Competency management

smartHR competency management template is based on SAP HCM Competency Management functionality.

Through competency management an organisation can manage, analyze and report on key competencies at the individual or aggregate level.

This fully integrated solution enables the definition of competency requirements on a position by position basis.  Competencies are defined in a competency catalogue structure.   The structure is flexible and has a number of available scales to be used to evaluate competency levels.

Via Employee Self Service (ESS) employees can update their own competency profiles.  These in turn will be matched against the competency requirement for their position, with gaps displayed via traffic light reporting in both ESS and MSS portals.

Based on identified gaps the competency management tool can suggest training based on available courses administered through the Learning Solution functionality.
